Goldilocks
The Story of the Three Bears, Arthur Backham (1867-1939)
Not too hot; not too cold
I seek something in-between
like the porridge of lore
Too much love would have my chest expanding
like an African primate
I would probably want to wander
Too little love would bruise my ego
like most any man anywhere
I would probably want to wander too
I don’t want you to love me too much
I don’t want you to love me too little
A golden mean would be fine
But is there a golden mean
and if there is
can it realistically be
reined in
captured and
conquered?
