Waiting
Éclats, Jean Le Moal, 1979, Pompidoux Museum Malaga
I waited
patiently – but to be truthful, my wait was not patient, not at all.
Not wanting to disturb
not wanting to interrupt
not wanting to impose myself
not wanting to expose my vulnerability.
But then love
banished all doubts
marginalised all fears
pulverised all hesitation.
I broke down doors
I crashed windows
I sent a hundred thousand emails
I cried out wildly.
My appeal has not yet been heard
but it is genuine, believe me.
I am waiting, still.
