Montrealense en el Balcon Malagueno
Malaga in March/April 2020
At the eight,
my neighbours can’t wait
to congregate
on their balconies
and celebrate their destinies
as they grieve the gone
and try to look beyond.
The deaths call into question our essence
and will for generations still to come
the departed are etched into our conscience
too many of us have had little or none.
Meanwhile on our balconies we dance together from afar
like after victory in a war
applauding all those whose star
put them on the frontline
saluting their commitment and their courage
while fearing the next pass of the scourge.
