Abandonment
Il ne faut pas voir la réalité telle que je suis, 1923
Max Ernst
If you knew what I now know
and have been through
you would not throw
away a relationship so easily.
I fell for you
I thought maybe you did for me too
this was not my first mistake
it will not be my last.
I wanted to gather you close
in an embrace that defies poetry or prose
you shrugged me off with curious arguments
I am now haplessly awaiting my next debacle.
